I. What is Prayer?<\/span><\/strong><\/p>

Prayer is CONVERSTION<\/u> with God (Jeremiah 33:3)<\/strong><\/span><\/p>

II. Who Can Pray And Expect Answers Or Results?<\/span><\/strong><\/p>

  1. Those who belong to CHRIST<\/u> (1 Timothy 2:5; Ephesians 2:8-9; John 1:12; Revelation 3:20).<\/li>
  2. Those who pray in the NAME<\/u> of JESUS<\/u> (John 14:14).<\/li>
  3. Those who have a clean HEART<\/u> (Psalm 66:18; 1 John 1:9).<\/li>
  4. Those who have a FORGIVING<\/u> spirit (Mark 11:25).<\/li>
  5. Those who come to God COMPLETE TRUST <\/u>(Matthew 21:22; Hebrews 11:6; Proverbs 3:5, 6).<\/li>
  6. Those who desire to do GOD\u2019S WILL<\/u> (Jeremiah 29:13; Psalm 37:4; 1 John 5:14; 15).<\/li><\/ol>

    III. Why Pray?<\/strong><\/span><\/p>

    1. To GLORIFY<\/u><\/strong> (John 14:13).<\/li>
    2. To OBEY<\/u><\/strong> God\u2019s command (1 Thessalonians 5:17; Matthew 7:7 \u2013 11).<\/li>
    3. To have FELLOWSHIP<\/u><\/strong> with God (Proverbs 15:8; 1 John 3:1).<\/li>
    4. To follow Christ\u2019s EXAMPLE<\/u><\/strong> (Mark 1:35).<\/li>
    5. Because prayer brings RESULTS<\/u><\/strong> (James 5:16; Hebrews 4:16; 1 John 3:21-23).<\/li>
    6. Because prayer is necessary for spiritual GROWTH<\/u><\/strong> (Ephesians 3:16-17).<\/li>
    7. To acknowledge our DEPENDECE<\/u><\/strong> on God (John 15:5; Philippians 4:13).<\/li><\/ol>

      IV. To Whom Do We Pray?<\/strong><\/p>

      Prayer is to the FATHER<\/u><\/strong> (Matthew 6:9),
      in the name of the SON<\/u><\/strong> (John14:13),
      through the HOLY SPIRIT<\/u><\/strong> (Romans 8:26-27).<\/p>

      V. When Should We Pray?<\/span><\/strong><\/p>

      1. ALL THE TIME <\/u><\/strong>(1 Thessalonians 5:17).<\/li>
      2. Definite times IN PRIVATE<\/u><\/strong> (Daniel 6:10).<\/li>
      3. Regular FELLOWSHIP TIMES, PRAYER MEETINGS, CHRISTIAN GATHERINGS, TROUBLED TIMES, MEAL TIMES, PARTING TIMES.<\/u><\/strong> (Acts 1:13-14; 2:41-42; 4:18-24; 31; 12:12-17; 16:25-28; 20:36-37).<\/li><\/ol>

        VI. What Should Be Included In Prayer?<\/strong><\/span><\/p>

        A<\/strong> –ADORATION<\/u><\/strong> (Psalm 103, 145-150; 89:1-14).
        C –CONFESSION<\/u><\/strong> (1 John 1:9).
        T –THANKSGIVING<\/u><\/strong> Thessalonians 5:18; Romans 8:28, 29).
        S –SUPPLICATION<\/u><\/strong> (Philippians 4:6).<\/p>

        VII. How Can We Pray with Confidence?<\/strong><\/span><\/p>

        A. <\/u>BY REMAINING IN CHRIST<\/u><\/strong> (John 15:7).<\/span><\/p>

        B. BY ASKING, SEEKING AND KNOCKING<\/strong><\/u> (Matthew 7:7, 8).<\/p>

        SEEKING IS PRAYER ACCORDING TO THE UNREVEALED WILL OF GOD. E.G. IT IS GOD\u2019S UNREVEALED WILL FOR SOMEONE TO GET A JOB, MARRIED, BUILD A HOUSE, ETC.<\/p>

        KNOCKING IS PRAYER ACCORDING TO THE RESISTED WILL OF GOD. E.G. OUR STRUGGLE AGAINST THE DEVIL].<\/p>
